Guest Speaker: Erik Hanburg


We had a guest speaker, Erik Hanburg. Erik Hanburg showed us how a humble person who works hard from starting from his industry and slowly rose to own his grand cinema really is inspiring to someone like me who does not know which direction life is taking me so far. Erik talks about the risks that he took and it shows that the journey to success is not something that is just handed to everyone but you need to be able to offer your own comfortable for something you want. Erik is a smart business person but also a writer which shows he very versatile in situations as a writer he was about to publisher books and as well as sell them on Amazon but he did not just stop there but even started to do audio books too to increase his sell on books. Erik is someone that would have a knew skill every time you run into him because he also understand technology which show when he takes precautions but also understanding social media, using blogs, Facebook and other social media outlets to promote his content. Which leads to the question of privacy when using the internet. Erik mentions that the privacy we have for everyone is the best we will get which can be bad or could be a topic for question, maybe someone will think that everyone should have better security and privacy and be able to create an app that prevents privacy issues. One thing I do know is that Google had regulated permissions for apps to always ask if you give consent for the app to be able to use the microphone, camera or other features on your phone when first installing the app, but does this mean we are secretly monitored? Big Brother anyone?

Can nuggets float on clouds?

There have been times when iCloud a software of Apple has been hacked into due to bugs and/or exploits which people’s information were stolen and pictures so is it really something you could trust? We had a guest speaker today who goes by the name Shadrach White. The way Shadrach White talked about clouds in general if you did not know about the iCloud incident you would think that it very secure besides the fact that they pay other people to try to hack into their cloud that way they could be fix the exploit. Google does something similar as they pride themselves being hard to hack so they challenge anyone to try to hack them and if you succeed you have a high likely chance that they will hire you. Need to contact someone? Easily done by just sending an email , technology makes things almost a little too simple for us. There is that feeling knowing that someone took the time out of their day just to handwrite a letter for you whether it be just to see how you been, wishing you a happy birthday or something simple as sending a postcard from places where you traveled.
